What Noom Really Costs: 77 Reviews, Median $184 (2026)

Noom does not put a price on its Play Store listing, and the number you see during signup depends on a questionnaire, a promotion and which of two products you end up in. So we did the only thing that gets past that: we read 906 negative reviews and wrote down every figure a real customer named.

Seventy-seven of them name one. The median charge for the coaching plan is $184, and it usually arrives as a single payment for a term you may not remember agreeing to.

Noom holds 4.08 stars from 314,317 Google Play ratings with 42,820 one-star reviews, and 4.70 from 870,601 ratings on iOS. Plenty of people lose weight with it and say so. This article is about the money.

Quick Answer: What Does Noom Actually Cost?

There are two separate price lists, and reviewers routinely confuse them. The coaching app is billed as a multi-month term, most often somewhere near $200 for a period between two and ten months. Noom Med, the GLP-1 medication service, is a different order of magnitude: reviewers describe $70 consultations, $119 to $159 starter charges, and $700 to $900 for a three-month block, before the medication itself.

The complaint that repeats is not the sticker price. It is that the charge lands as one lump for a term, that the renewal arrives without a reminder, and that once it lands, reviewers are told it is not refundable.

What We Read

We pulled the 3,000 most recent Google Play reviews from the US storefront and kept the 906 rated 1 to 3 stars with enough text to read as a report. Because Noom accumulates reviews more slowly than a delivery app, those 906 stretch from 26 October 2024 to 20 August 2026, which is a 22-month window.

We then repeated the pull across 18 other storefronts. The combined corpus is 7,972 unique reviews, 3,620 of them negative, and 1,998 long enough to categorise.

One caution before any number below. These are self-reported figures from unhappy customers, written months apart, in a product with promotional pricing. They are not a price list. What they are is the only public record of what people believe they were charged, and the shape of that record is consistent enough to be worth reporting.

77 Reviews Name a Number

We searched the 906 for any dollar figure and read every hit. Seventy-seven contain one. Not all of them are Noom charges, so we sorted them by hand:

The five we removed matter, because leaving them in would inflate the numbers. Three name the $5 payout from the in-app rewards points, one names a $710 jump in medication price through the reviewer's own insurance, and one is a hypothetical about what medication costs elsewhere. None of them is money Noom took.

The Modal Charge Is About $200

Here is the distribution of the 56 coaching-plan figures. The median is $184, the smallest is $3 and the largest is $500.

Twenty-four of the 56 land between $176 and $209. That is not a smooth spread, it is a cluster, and fifteen of those 24 name exactly $200. When a single figure repeats that often across two years and dozens of unrelated reviewers, it is a plan, not a coincidence.

What makes the number sting is the billing shape. These are rarely monthly charges. Reviewers describe them as terms.

My subscription was canceled in February of 2023. I saw they charged my American Express on January 1, 2025. After doing some research I found that they've been charging me $176.00 every six months.

RENEWAL SUBSCRIPTION TRAP The app is fine, and has great advice, but the subscription is handled outside of Google on an 8 month cycle and if you forget to cancel it you get slapped with a 200 charge out of nowhere that they refuse to reverse.

I was impressed with the robust survey that this app provided when setting up my profile. It seemed like it was going to be a quality app. Afterward, however I was sprung with a very high price tag (about $200 for a 7 month program).

Verified buyer: Beware, many who is this app may not be aware they are being charged $200 every 10 months.

Others describe the same shape at other lengths, which is why a single monthly figure never appears in the reviews.

I used this app a few years ago to learn about my habits, and it helped a bit. The courses are fine, but nothing groundbreaking, and it is really expensive (you're looking at $170 every six months).

Great! Until it wasn't. I have faithfully used Noom (free version) for over 4 years now (NEVER missing logging a meal) with solid results and then maintenance. Over those years, various features continued to be removed from the free version, but I adapted. It's understandable to a point. Today, I discovered I can not even do the most basic feature of the app- logging my meals- without updating to a paid plan at $130 for a mere 2 months.

If you have 30 minutes to answer 100 annoying and repetitive questions to find out that you have to pay for six months to get "six months for free" and the checkout screen shows the full amount, go for it. Guess I'll just stay fat. Thanks Noom for wasting my time.

Can't connect to Samsung Galaxy watch, yet it runs in background constantly, using up battery; have to manually add steps & workouts, but you can't add steps if you install suggested Health Connect. Can't use body scan because Samsung Galaxy phone isn't supported. So it basically does what the free version of MyFitnessPal does but costs $102+ for 5 months, which is discounted from $185+ only because I looked into canceling during paid trial period (no free trial option). I still canceled.

That last one is worth reading twice: the reviewer says the discount only appeared when they went looking for the cancel button.

The Second Price List: Noom Med

Sixteen of the 77 are talking about the medication service, and the figures are three to five times larger. We separate them because a reader comparing Noom to a calorie tracker is not shopping for the same thing.

Total Scam. Keep your money away from these people. They force you to pay upfront three months for $900 but they prescribe you a low dose of GLP 1. On top of that, they ask you to pay the trial month $200 but the refilling and shipping Is always delayed.

I like noom but the app is horrible. sometimes the messages do not load and then the meal logging part disappears. for 700 dollars every 3 months this is ridiculous and there is not an online version

I wish I would have just signed up for noom and not noom med. They say that they offer a "trial" for you to try the medicine before committing to the 12 month program but first of all they charge you $119 for the "trial", of which you really only get 1 week

Signed up for Noom Med to try and get on glp-1 medication. paid $70 for a telehealth consultation with a doctor. They said i was an excellent candidate. They said they wrote a prescription. That was April 2. It's April 26.

while the app is OK for tracking, their advertisements are very misleading. GLP1 starts at $69/month, and commercials are $159/month. My option is $300 membership plus $400/month

Two of the sixteen describe the advertised price and the billed price disagreeing, which is the same complaint as the coaching plan, just with a bigger number attached.

Payment Deception: When I signed up for this program, I was charged $159 dollars for 22 days. during the sign up process, it clearly said that I was going to be charged around $250 a month. however, when I was billed, I was charged $ 870 for twelve weeks.

Noom itself seems ok. app is tedious and customer service is ridiculous. I saw an ad on Facebook for $99 to start three weeks of microdose program and $99 per month for 12 weeks after. They keep telling me its $199 a month for 12 weeks after but this ad clearly shows $99 per month for 12 weeks in the fine print.

24 Say They Were Charged After Cancelling

This is the cluster that turns a pricing question into a trust question.

Our keyword pass for cancellation plus a charge returned 34 reviews in the 906. We read all 34 and 16 survived: the rest were people who wanted to cancel, found cancelling tedious, or had been refunded. Then we went back through the reviews that named a figure and found 8 more that the keyword net had missed because the cancellation and the charge were in different sentences. Total: 24.

We also excluded three reviews that say "I thought I had cancelled". That phrasing cannot be separated from a customer who did not finish the flow, and this cluster only means something if the reviewer is sure.

The clearest cases are the ones holding a confirmation email.

EDIT: I emailed the address that was offered to me in the developer's reply here, and I received no response. I cancelled before the trial period. I even received an email confirmation of the cancellation. I was still charged $100.

This is the biggest scam!!! DO NOT LOSE YOUR MONEY!!! I canceled BEFORE the billing date and have PROOF of it, because I received a confirmation email stating just that. They billed me $93 after the fact anyway, and refuse to refund the UNAUTHORIZED charge.

I've used in the past and had trouble with cancelation then too. this time I canceled my subscription before my free trail ended and received a cancelation email. I was charged for the subscription.

The food database doesn't have much of the Woolworths/Coles homebrand items and the lessons are all the same 3 common sense ideas regurgitated. When my wife tried to cancel her account the chat assistant confirmed with her that her account was closed and there was to be no charged to her bank.

Several describe charges continuing long after they stopped using the app at all.

i canceled my subscription in 2021 or 2022, and i've just found out they've been charging me a yearly subscription since at least 2023. They don't even send you an email to warn you, i've now just realized they've been carging me 182$!!!!

Zero stars. I used this app for about a year, then canceled. In the years since, Noom charged me $189 at least 8 times despite repeated attempts to cancel. At some point I was locked out, no longer allowed to log in, told my account was deleted, yet the charges kept happening.

DO NOT recommend i have been trying to cancel my subscription for over a year and they just keep saying it's cancled than I get a charge again the next month.

STEER CLEAR cancelled my subscription On the 16. was away and when i came back i saw two charges on TWO different cards for the membership i canceled. went back into the app and it was there again. Canceled again.

And the free trial appears again and again as the moment things go wrong.

Scam. My daughter signed up for a trial and unsubscribed before the trial ended. They have charged her $170 and there seems to be no way to make it stop.

extremely disappointed, tried the premium trial and signed up for notifications to cancel before the premium charge, they also said if you canceled within a certain time frame it would be refundable. 209 dollars. is what they took from me.

22 Were Told the Money Is Not Coming Back

Separately, 22 of the 906 say they asked for a refund and were refused, or were told the charge was non-refundable. The reason given, over and over, is that a renewal is not refundable.

Billed $200 for a renewal without notice. Refund was refused. The counselors are useless. This just a glorified calorie tracker.

There was no renewal reminder prior to them charging me over $200. There should always be a reminder prior. No option for refund because it's a renewal. Barely used the app after 3 months.

Don't bother. Noom offers nothing that you can't do with a regular tracking app. Gamification options are barebones. They sign you up for auto renewal and refuse to refund.

Used for over 5 years. Helped but now I want to cancel - I live on suc security and can't afford and they won't refund my money.

12 Say No Renewal Notice Arrived

The mechanism that connects the price to the anger is the silent renewal. Twelve reviews specifically say they received no warning before the renewal charge, several noting that the app's own promise was that a reminder would come.

Subscribed a year ago. Shortly after I reached out via chat to cancel my subscription. Just got charged for another year despite not using it and they have a no refund policy on renewal despite me not receiving any notice of renewal.

Hidden auto renewal - they don't send emails to remind you and hope you forget, and then try to hide behind "well, it's non-refundable it's in the fine print" PREDATORY PRACTICE.

watch out for automatic renewals... no refund even when the app hasn't been used in months. AI customer service won't transfer you to a human stating you need to log in even when you are already logged in.

Because the charge is a term rather than a month, a missed reminder does not cost you one cycle. It costs you the whole next term.

The Same Pattern, in Euros

This is not a US billing quirk. The German storefront carries the same three complaints with the currency changed: a term price, a charge after cancellation, and a discount that only appears at the exit.

What to Check Before You Subscribe

Nothing here is legal advice, and none of it is exotic. It is the list of things the 906 reviews say people wish they had checked.

• Find the term length, not the monthly figure. The reviews describe 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10-month terms. The number you are agreeing to is term length times monthly rate, charged at once.
• Screenshot the checkout screen, including the total and the renewal date. Several reviewers describe a total that did not match the advertised offer, and a screenshot is the only version of that you keep.
• Note where the subscription lives. Multiple reviewers say the charge did not appear in their Google Play subscriptions, which means cancelling in Play does nothing.
• If you cancel, keep the confirmation email. In this data the people who got the furthest with support are the ones holding one.
• Diarise the renewal date yourself rather than relying on a reminder. Twelve reviewers here say the reminder never came.
• Decide about Noom Med separately. It is a different product at a different price, and mixing the two is how a $200 expectation becomes a $900 charge.

What We Are Not Saying

We are not saying Noom charges everyone $184. It is a median of self-reported figures from people who were unhappy enough to write a review, and satisfied customers do not usually post their receipts.

We are not saying the cancellations failed. We can only report that 24 people say they cancelled and were charged anyway, and that three more said "I thought I had cancelled" and were left out for exactly that reason. A billing dispute has two sides and we can only see one of them.

And we are not saying the program does not work. The corpus is full of people who lost weight and still gave one star, which is its own finding: in this data the anger is almost never about the diet. It is about a term-length charge that arrived without a reminder and could not be reversed.
