For brands and agencies

Advertise on Unstar.app

We analyze what users complain about in App Store and Google Play reviews. Our readers arrive mid-decision: comparing apps, checking whether one is trustworthy, or looking for something better. Sponsored placements put your product in front of them, clearly labeled and permanently.

Traffic is consumer-side and arrives from search. The largest single market is the US, with the rest spread across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Ask us for the current breakdown by country and category.

Two formats

Both are labeled as sponsored on the page itself, and both link out with rel="sponsored".

Format 1

Sponsored section in an existing article

A clearly labeled block inside an article that already ranks for your category, placed after the editorial content. Your own copy, your own call to action, and a link to your site.

Best when a relevant ranked comparison already exists and you want to reach readers who are actively choosing between apps.

Format 2

Standalone sponsored review

A dedicated page about your product, written with your input and labeled as sponsored. It gets the same internal linking, structured data, and 16 language versions as any other article on the site.

Best when you want a page you can link to from your own channels and that keeps working in search over time.

What every placement includes

  • Permanent placement. No expiry date and no renewal fee.
  • Live on all 16 language versions of the page.
  • Your own copy and your own call to action, used as you wrote them.
  • One revision round after publication.
  • Usually live within two business days of approval.

What stays editorial

  • Rankings and verdicts stay editorial. Placements sit beside them, clearly marked.
  • Review data stays as published. Complaint sections, quotes, and ratings come from the stores.
  • Paid links carry rel="sponsored", which is what Google asks publishers to do.
  • We only take placements for products we can verify in a category we already cover.

A page readers trust is the reason a placement on it is worth buying. See our terms of use for the full editorial policy.

Questions we get every time

How are paid links marked?

Every paid link on this site carries rel="sponsored", which is what Google asks publishers to do. It is the one detail we cannot flex on, and it keeps both sides clear of a manual action.

Can we choose which article the placement goes in?

Yes, as long as the article is topically relevant to the product. If you are not sure which page fits, tell us the product and we will suggest the strongest match.

Can we respond to what the reviews say about our app?

Yes, that is what a placement is for. App pages, ratings, and complaint summaries are generated from public App Store and Google Play data, so we cannot rewrite them, but your copy runs on the same page and answers the reader who is already there.

How much does it cost?

Rates depend on the format and the category. Email us with the product and target URL and we will send the current rate card and availability.

How long does the placement stay live?

Indefinitely. Placements are a one-time purchase, they do not expire, and there is no renewal invoice.

Do you work with agencies?

Often, and the terms are the same as they are for a brand buying directly. What we do not run is link exchanges or inserts pointing to sites unrelated to the product being advertised.

Tell us what you are launching

Send the product, the target URL, and the format you want. If we do not have a page that fits, we will tell you rather than sell you a placement that will not perform.

Are you an app developer rather than a brand? We also sell a homepage sponsorship that features your app site-wide, and a Pro plan for monitoring your own reviews.
