Fetch Rewards lets you scan receipts and play games to earn points you cash out for gift cards, with 10M+ installs and a 4.7 store rating. But its 1-star reviews tell a harder story: game points that never post, receipts stuck at 25 points, redemptions canceled after 72 hours, and gift cards that arrive wrong or stolen. What the negative reviews really say about whether Fetch Rewards actually pays or is a waste of time.
eharmony is one of the oldest dating apps, with 10M+ installs and matchmaking built on a long questionnaire. But its 1-star reviews are blunt: you cannot see photos or message a mutual match without paying, people report being locked into a longer term than they signed up for, and the inbox fills with blank or bait profiles. What the negative reviews really say about whether eharmony is legit and worth the money.
Benjamin markets itself as an app that pays you to play games and complete offers, with 1M+ installs. But its recent 1-star reviews describe a payout system that stopped working: earnings stuck "in queue" for months, in-app purchases still charged instantly, and support offering only excuses after an ownership change. What the negative reviews really say about whether Benjamin pays real money or is a scam.
Roomster has millions of installs and markets itself as a fast way to find a room or roommate, but its 1-star reviews are dominated by one word: scam. Users say you cannot even read a message without paying, the inbox fills with bots baiting you to subscribe, and a $11.99 trial turns into a second $29.99 charge. There is also a real FTC settlement over fake reviews and phony listings. What the negative reviews and the regulators actually say about Roomster.
Hypic is a hugely popular photo editor from ByteDance, the company behind CapCut and TikTok, with 100M+ installs and a 4.6 iOS rating. But its recent 1-star reviews tell one story over and over: features that used to be free are now locked behind a Hypic Pro subscription, prices users call greedy, and charges that hit again after paying. What the negative reviews really say about whether Hypic is still worth it.
Cleo AI has 5M+ installs and a 4.7 store rating, but its 1-star reviews tell a harsher story: a paid subscription you have to buy before you can even see if you qualify, a cash advance that shrinks or gets denied once there is no direct deposit, express fees on top, and charges that keep hitting after you cancel. What the negative reviews really say about the Cleo cash advance app.
Nebula astrology app has 5M+ installs and a 4.3 store rating, but the 1-star reviews repeat one script: a $1 reading offer that turns into a surprise $42 or $49.99 subscription with no disclosure, charges that keep hitting after you cancel, per-credit upsells that delay answers to make you pay, and generic readings. What the negative reviews really say about Nebula.
Character AI has 50M+ installs but a 1.9 rating on Google Play, and the 1-star reviews explain why: an age-verification ID wall that locks people out, ads every few messages, an $80-a-year paywall, bots that got repetitive and off-model, and a filter that blocks normal roleplay. Is it safe for kids, is it legit, and what changed? What the reviews really say.
Chai has 10M+ installs but a 2.8 rating on Google Play, and the 1-star reviews explain the fall: you can no longer send a single message without paying, weekly subscriptions replaced monthly ones and keep rising, hard message limits, a self-harm and content filter that blocks normal roleplay, and paid users who say the app still nags them to subscribe. What the reviews really say.
PalmPay has 10M+ installs and a 4.5 rating, yet 1-star reviews repeat one script: insurance deductions nobody asked for, "SECURITY VALIDATE FAIL" login walls, loan agents who threaten and pile on interest, transfers that vanish with no refund, and a support line that never picks up. What reviews really say.
Chamet has 50M+ installs and a 4.0 rating, yet 1-star reviews repeat one script: withdrawals stuck on "pending" or locked for months, random calls that dry up once you hit a bean threshold, bots and scammers in the chats, verification and photo uploads that fail, and rigged lucky games. What reviews really say.
DramaWave has 100M+ installs and a 4.5 rating, yet 1-star reviews repeat one script: a weekly pass around $20 (or $32 a month) that burns out in hours, coins to unlock every episode, ads longer than the clips, dramas from the ad that are not in the app, and AI stories with no ending. What reviews really say.
