Plus 49 more reviews across 15 storefronts in their own languages.

Pluto TV holds 3.74 stars from 806,197 Google Play ratings against 4.78 on the App Store. A redesign landed on 2 September 2026 and daily reviews tripled while the star average fell from 3.15 to 2.32. We read all 145 substantial negative reviews from the nine days after: 91 describe something that used to work and does not now.
ESPN holds 4.40 stars from 1,209,731 Google Play ratings. We read 1,591 substantial negative reviews from the last twelve months. 476 of them mention money, and 107 describe paying for ESPN and still not being able to watch: sign-ins that will not stick, subscriptions the app does not recognise, and blackouts nobody mentioned at checkout.
Fubo holds 3.07 stars from 51,356 Google Play ratings. We read 523 substantial negative reviews from a 12 month window. 275 are about money rather than channels, 80 mention cancelling and being charged, and 9 report a charge that landed before the advertised trial window closed.
Pandora holds 3.89 stars on Google Play against 4.80 on the App Store. We read 1,103 substantial negative reviews from nine months: 227 describe the app crashing or stopping on its own, and the rate has not moved across twelve builds. Sorted by hand, they fall into three patterns.
HBO Max holds 4.78 stars from 5,715,537 Google Play ratings. We read 342 substantial negative reviews from ten weeks and hand-verified 77 about advertising, 22.5% of every real complaint. Sixteen say they pay for an ad-free plan and still see ads, seventeen say the ad break breaks the video, and the same rate shows up in fifteen other countries.
Crunchyroll holds 4.63 stars from 4,325,035 Google Play ratings. We read 2,297 negative reviews from two and a half months: 306 are about language, the share does not move across ten builds, and the same complaint turns up in twelve languages.

NetShort holds 4.63 on Google Play from 1.3M ratings. We read 76 recent 1-3 star reviews across Korean and English stores: a weekly VIP that Korean reviewers put at 29,000 won, renewals after cancelling, three ads per episode, and a free trial several say charged immediately.
We read the 300 most recent US Google Play reviews for Paramount+. 149 were 1-3 stars and 79% of them landed on one build. The pattern underneath is the useful part: the app fails far harder on Android than on Apple hardware, and reviewers who found working routes name them.
We read the 300 most recent US Google Play reviews for the Hulu app. 191 were 1-3 stars, and 83% of them landed on the two builds shipped this month. The reports are specific: an age restriction that locks adults out of accounts they pay for, playback that fails mid-episode, casting that stopped working, and an ad load that paying subscribers measured themselves. Here is what is broken and what actually helps.
We read the 300 most recent US Google Play reviews for Peacock TV. 172 were 1-3 stars, and the money complaints are more specific than "too expensive": reviewers report ads on tiers they paid to remove ads from, being charged for two plans when upgrading minutes after signing up, annual plans that cannot be switched, and a cancellation flow that sends people to a page that does not exist. Here is what Peacock actually costs once those are priced in.
PineDrama is a short-drama app advertised all over TikTok as free and ad free, with a 4.8-star average from nearly 8,000 ratings, but its recent 1-star reviews tell a different story: a "working on new content" black screen that never goes away, unskippable ads inside an app that promised none, dramas from the TikTok ads that are not actually in the app, stories missing 10-20 episodes or endings, and a free pitch that turns into a subscription reviewers say is nearly impossible to cancel. What the negative reviews really say about whether PineDrama is legit in 2026.
DramaWave has 100M+ installs and a 4.5 rating, yet 1-star reviews repeat one script: a weekly pass around $20 (or $32 a month) that burns out in hours, coins to unlock every episode, ads longer than the clips, dramas from the ad that are not in the app, and AI stories with no ending. What reviews really say.
Lite Player is advertised as a free movie and short-drama app with a 4.6 rating, yet 1-star reviews repeat one script: it opens as a plain camera app with nothing in it, ads on every tap, episodes that break after the first one, and reviewers calling the ads and ratings fake. What reviews really say.
VibeShort has 5M+ installs and a 4.3 rating, yet 1-star reviews repeat one script: a $19.99 weekly pass that keeps charging after you cancel, pay-per-episode walls, ads showing dramas that are not even in the app, stories with no ending, and support that never answers cancellation emails. What reviews really say.
DramaBox holds a 4.8 rating from 770,000+ reviews, but the 1-star side tells another story: a subscription near $17-20 a week, coins that drain on autoplay and expire, ads longer than the episodes, and charges that continue after canceling. What reviews really say.
